Ted Lasso Dethroned As Apple TV+’s Most-Watched Show Ever
Apple TV+'s returning thriller series has become the streaming platform's most-watched series of all time, dethroning Ted Lasso in the process. The streamer is home to a number of shows across various genres, many of which have received critical acclaim. This includes comedies like Ted Lasso, crime comedy-dramas like Bad Monkey, and more mind-bending shows like the sci-fi series Dark Matter. The platform has also become home to multiple franchises, as proven by the upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2, part of the Monsterverse, and the expansion of For All Mankind with a spinoff, titled Star City.
It's sci-fi shows like the latter two that Apple TV+ has found the most success in, earning both high viewership and awards for its shows in the genre. For example, Silo seasons 3 and 4 have been confirmed following the show's high viewership across the platform, including multiple award nominations for season 1. Other big sci-fi shows on the platform include Foundation, based on Issac Asimov's book series, and Invasion, which has been renewed for season 3 despite mixed reviews. However, one show has proven itself Apple TV+'s most successful sci-fi thriller, and now its most popular show ever.
