A City Trip To Malmö

For an easy and exciting Copenhagen to Sweden day trip, look no further than Malmö. This vibrant Swedish city offers a perfect blend of modern attractions and old-world charm. Stroll through the picturesque streets of Gamla Väster, admire the striking Turning Torso skyscraper, or relax in one of Malmö’s beautiful parks. Slottsparken was by far my favorite, and I loved the many crossing paths you could take while enjoying the view of the peaceful lake. And don’t forget to explore Lilla Torg, the cozy square lined with cafés and restaurants, perfect for a coffee break, a cinnamon bun or a delicious meal!
How To Get There
Malmö is the quickest and easiest Swedish destination to reach from Copenhagen. Just board one of the trains running from Copenhagen Central Station 3-4 times an hour, and find yourself stepping into the streets of Malmö just 35 minutes later! Although the train tickets aren’t that expensive, it is also possible to make the trip even more budget-friendly by boarding a Flixbus, which will bring you to Malmø in just over an hour! It doesn’t get much easier than that.

A Wonderful Day In Lund

Another amazing Swedish city to visit from Copenhagen is the university city of Lund. Lund is just 25 minutes further from Malmö and a true winner for those, who aren’t into the buzzling city life! Famous for its medieval charm, Lund will fill your trip with cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and the impressive Lund Cathedral, a must-see landmark dating back to the 12th century. While you are there, be sure to wander through the lush Botanical Garden and explore the fascinating Kulturen open-air museum to dive into Sweden’s cultural heritage. As a university town, Lund also boasts a lively café scene, where you can relax with a coffee and a Swedish pastry (as you should!).
How To Get There
As with Malmö, Lund is a very easy destination to reach from Copenhagen Central Station. Most of the trains departing to Malmö will continue onwards to Lund, and you will be able to reach the city in just an hour! It is also possible to jump on a Vy Buss og Flixbus and reach the city in 1,5-2 hours, if you are trying to save as much money as possible.

A Day Trip To Helsingsborg

The last amazing Copenhagen to Sweden day trip by train I will mention in this post is a trip to Helsingborg. Just a short train or ferry ride away, Helsingborg offers the perfect mix of history, culture, and scenic beauty. Stroll through the cobblestone streets of the city center, visit Kärnan, the medieval tower that offers stunning views of the Öresund Strait, or relax by the picturesque waterfront. Helsingborg also boasts fantastic shopping opportunities, cozy cafes, and beautiful parks, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back yet memorable day trip.
How To Get There
While Helsingborg is a bit further from Copenhagen than Malmö or Lund, it’s still a convenient and rewarding destination for a day trip. The fastest and most hassle-free option is the direct train, which whisks you to Helsingborg in just 1 hour and 25 minutes—perfect for maximizing your time exploring. While the train may be a bit pricier, it’s worth it for the convenience. For those on a tighter budget, Flixbus is an alternative, offering cheaper fares but requiring a bit more planning. Buses are less frequent, and the journey can take up to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Regardless of how you choose to travel, Helsingborg’s charm is well worth the effort!
