The First-Ever Hyderabad InTrek Convention, A Step Forward Towards a Growing Trekking Community

Our first Hyderabad InTrek Convention was featured in the Telangana Today e-newspaper, and that’s a big moment for us.

When national and regional media recognise efforts like these, it does more than bring us joy; it carries our vision forward — the vision that everyone must trek, because trekking transforms lives.

It reminds us that this idea is no longer just ours; it’s beginning to find its place in the world.

We thank Telangana Today for publishing this story and amplifying what this movement stands for.

But beyond the news, what happened that day was just as special.

On the 2nd of November, the Hyderabad InTrek Community, a group of passionate trekkers inspired by Indiahikes, held its first-ever InTrek Community Convention, and it turned out to be a day filled with connection, learning, and a shared purpose that went far beyond the mountains.

Over the years, Indiahikes has inspired thousands of trekkers to see trekking differently — not just as an adventure, but as a way to grow, to understand nature, and to build a deeper sense of self.

The InTrek Communities are an extension of that belief.

They are local chapters in cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and others, run entirely by trekkers themselves. They bring people together to continue the journey of learning and exploration.

Through clean-up drives, nature walks, local hikes, documentation treks, and now conventions, these communities are showing what it truly means to keep the spirit of trekking alive year-round.

The Hyderabad Convention, hosted at the cultural hub Lamakaan, beautifully captured that spirit. Over 100 trekkers came together to share stories, celebrate milestones, and plan the road ahead.

The day began with a warm welcome and reflections on how far the community had come. From a handful of passionate trekkers, it has now grown into a collective of outdoor enthusiasts who care deeply about the environment.

A major highlight of the day was a talk by Arjun Majumdar, Founder and CEO of Indiahikes, who shared the story of how Indiahikes began and how community-driven trekking is shaping the future of trekking in India. His words reminded everyone that while treks may begin on the trail, the transformation they spark continues long after the trek ends.

True to Hyderabad’s spirit, the event was organised with remarkable energy and passion. Every detail reflected the community’s enthusiasm and sense of ownership.

By the end of the day, one message stood out clearly — trekking may start in the mountains, but its true journey continues in the community.

The Hyderabad InTrek Community closed the convention with a renewed commitment to keep learning, leading, and growing together, and to carry forward the same spirit that has always defined Indiahikes — one of connection, purpose, and giving back.
