The View 2024 Cast Guide: All New & Returning Hosts
The View in the 2024 season has brought back its entire stable of hosts from the previous season, with everyone having at least two years under their belts at this point. Despite rumors swirling about the 2024 The View season, The View has come roaring back every year since it premiered in 1997. Since then, there have been 24 co-hosts on the show, some of whom have lasted for decades, like the late Barbara Walters, and some who have only lasted one season, like Nicole Wallace. That isn't even to mention all the guests who have appeared over the years.
The 2024 season of The View, effectively season 28, began in September 2024 and has continued into 2025, bringing all the conversations, debates, and arguments that The View viewers could want. With a U.S. election taking place at the beginning of the season, The View has had plenty to discuss, though they, of course, make time for all the daily, pop culture, and current event discussions they're known for. The View for 2024 returns two veterans of the show, two solid roleplayers, and two co-hosts settling into the daytime series.
Joy Behar
On The View From 1997-2013, And Since 2015
Joy Behar is the longest-tenured co-host on The View and has appeared on every season of the show except for seasons 17 and 18, when she decided to leave the show for good. However, she quickly decided to return to the show a few seasons later, saying, "Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in" (via DansPapers). With her sharp wit, and willingness to say whatever she's feeling at the moment, Behar has always provided a bit of caustic energy to the show that's helped it remain relevant.

She's never one to take herself too seriously and, as a former stand-up comic, her self-deprecating attitude is always funny and never "woe-is-me". She's gotten into her share of hot water in the past, once saying that Mike Pence and those who claim to hear Jesus are suffering from "mental illness" (via TheHill). Her comic relief has been a necessary ingredient of the show since its inception.
Whoopi Goldberg
On The View Since 2007
Whoopi Goldberg is the other veteran on The View crew who returns for the 2024 season. The EGOT-winning actress and comedian has been a staple of the show since 2007, and is one of the most recognizable pieces of the panel, along with Behar. Whoopi is funny with a wit to match Behar's, but she can also get serious, and seems to enjoy talking about more political topics. She's one of the more political voices on the show and has gotten herself into trouble with some of her takes.

Whoopi has defended Mel Gibson and Bill Cosby, though she later walked back her comments about Cosby (via People). She also made inaccurate comments about the Holocaust, which eventually led to her being suspended from The View for a few weeks. Whoopi is not afraid to speak her mind, though she doesn't always think everything through before she does.
Sara Haines
On The View From 2016-2018, And Since 2020
Sara Haines has been on The View since 2016, though she took a break in 2019 to host Strahan and Sara with Michael Strahan, but she then went on to return to the show for season 24 (via Variety). She's a journalist and has been part of the ABC family for years, even before her The View tenure. This makes her something of a moderator on the show, often voicing both sides of an opinion. It can be frustrating at times to nail down what her "view" is, but she always articulates her thoughts well.

Haines is an important host to have on the show, someone who is not necessarily going to stir the pot with any of her opinions. Instead, her role is to tee up people like Behar and Whoopi to go off about whatever subject, and then reel them back in with a point of view from the other side. It may mean she's not as memorable as other hosts, but it would be a different show without her.
Sunny Hostin
On The View Since 2016
Sunny Hostin has been a part of The View since 2016 and is a lawyer turned journalist who has co-hosted other ABC News shows before The View. Hostin has very left-leaning viewpoints on the show and has frequently brought up issues with Donald Trump and the Republican Party. She's a fiery host who, while remaining respectful, is not afraid to go after someone for a statement and make sure that they explain exactly what they mean.

She has been unafraid to call out sections of the American public for what she believes are failures in the current state of the American government. That attitude can possibly make her appear somewhat snobbish, but she rarely flip-flops on issues, and will generally try and bring facts and well-thought-out arguments to every conversation.
Ana Navarro
On The View Since 2022
Ana Navarro is one of the younger co-hosts on The View in 2024. She first appeared on the show in 2022, after years working for ABC as a political strategist and commentator. Navarro is something of a Centrist in her views, settling in the middle of the spectrum of all The View co-hosts. Though she doesn't come from comedy, Navarro is one of the funniest cast members of The View outside of Behar and Whoopi, two trained comics.

She often has little asides and comments that Behar in particular finds funny. Navarro is quick with a dig and easily able to respond to every other woman around the co-host desk. Despite her "Centrist" views, Navarro takes a hard line on certain issues and doesn't back down quickly from people challenging her, making any debate she's a part of a fun one.
Alyssa Farah Griffin
On The View Since 2022
Alyssa Farah Griffin joined The View in season 26, along with Ana Navarro, after working in Donald Trump's White House, leaving after his first term, which was a tacit acknowledgment of his loss of the presidency, a fact he denies, despite having no evidence to the contrary (via TheWashingtonPost). Despite being the "Conservative" member of The View panel, she allegedly did not vote for Trump in the 2024 election, instead supporting Kamala Harris.

After Trump's win, Griffin has slid back into a more conservative role on The View, providing a counterpoint to the more liberal viewpoints on the show. Griffin was slightly nervous in her first outings on the show, but has since developed a style all her own and a comfort behind the desk. Though she's often on her own side in most debates, she's respectful and dignified, and her co-hosts show her the same in turn.

Created by legendary broadcast journalist Barbara Walters, The View is a daytime talk show that has aired on ABC since 1997. It features a panel of various women from different generations, backgrounds, and political affiliations discussing the day's "Hot Topics" and interviewing celebrities and politicians.
