These Xbox Games Are Killing It With Pre-Orders In The PlayStation Store
Former Xbox-exclusive games Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 are topping the PlayStation Store pre-order charts. Microsoft and Xbox have enjoyed success in their cross-platform releases so far, having already launched Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, and Grounded on PS5 in early 2024.
VG247 noted that Indiana Jones and Forza Horizons 5 both edged out Days Gone Remastered as the most pre-ordered games for PS5, providing definitive proof that Sony fans are excited about both upcoming releases. Sony has no plans to release any other console-exclusive games until late spring and this summer, with Lost Soul Aside and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach hit shelves.
Forza Horizon 5 was initially released on Xbox back in November 2021, while Indiana Jones and The Great Circle was released in December 2024. Standard and Premium versions of both games are set to be released on PlayStation on April 29 and 17, respectively.
Indiana Jones & Forza Horizon Are Set For PlayStation Success
Both Games Have Enjoyed Positive Reviews From Players & Critics
With so many pre-orders rolling in about a month shy of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle's release, it seems that both games have already found success on the PlayStation 5. Indiana Jones' excellent new adventureand Forza's best-in-class racing have both received immensely positive reviews from players and critics alike, with Screen Rant awarding both games a 9/10.

Xbox Game Pass May Soon Gain One Of 2024's Biggest RPGs
According to an official listing, it appears that Xbox Game Pass subscribers may soon get to play one of 2024's biggest (and most divisive) RPGs.
Forza has long been Xbox's competitor to PlayStation's Gran Turismo series, and from a precedence standpoint, Forza Horizon 5 is the more groundbreaking migrant coming to PS5. Forza can be considered one of Xbox's tent pole series, providing high-quality releases regularly for many years, and will be a highlight for PlayStation racing fans. Dr. Jones doesn't have the same longstanding relationship with Xbox, but The Great Circle coming to PlayStation is nonetheless exciting, and is clearly already finding an eager audience on Sony's machine.
Our Take: Microsoft's Multi-Platform Strategy Appears To Be Paying Off
Exclusivity May Have Worked In The Past, But New Strategies Are Needed To Reach Players
While players of the past may have been willing to buy a whole new console to play a single game, those days appear to be long gone. Modern players favor convenience over exclusivity, and single-console release games alone don't have the appeal they once did: the rise of PC gaming along with streaming platforms like Twitch has made it easier for console loyalists to check out exclusive games without laying down a ton of cash.
If the pre-order success of Indiana Jones and Forza Horizon 5 is anything to go off of, Microsoft's multi-platform strategy is paying off. If the publisher continues to experience positive reaction to its multi-platform releases, it's possible even more Xbox-exclusive titles will make their way to PlayStation consoles, including Halo and Gears of War.
