In a recent Instagram story, Davidopened up about how he feels towards MAFS viewers who have been judging their relationship without being truly aware of who he and Madison are together. Sharing a clip from the movie Hitch where Will Smith and Eva Mendes' characters are goofily dancing in tandem, the post implies that even though outsiders are judging the couple, they're perfectly in sync. "If this ain't us baby," David captioned the post, after mentioning Madison's Instagram handle. Making it clear that he feels they're perfectly in sync no matter what fans say, David made his stance clear.

Although David and Madison were doing their best to hide their relationship during Married At First Sight season 18's filming, it's clear that the couple struggled with being disliked by the public for their actions. Despite trying to own the fact that they cheated on their partners during MAFS filming, both David and Madison still felt like they were going to be fan favorites this season. While David and his MAFS wife, Michelle Tomblin, struggled to find any connection which made them hard to like, Madison and her MAFS husband Allen Slovick were a pair the fans enjoyed at first.

After it became clear that David and Michelle weren't going to work out, Madison and Allen's relationship began to crumble quickly thereafter. As Madison connected with David, she pushed Allen away and eventually found herself unable to even face him, having David reveal her indiscretions to him before leaving her MAFS marriage. Madison's inability to take accountability for her behavior on the show, it felt like she was being intentionally obtuse as she moved through the final stretch of the season, refusing to acknowledge her behavior.
