Tiago Pinto has now officially left his post as Roma’s sporting director, spending time with the club’s staff and fans on his final day.
Last month, it was announced that the 39-year-old Portuguese director would be leaving the Giallorossi upon the closure of the January transfer window, which officially closed on Thursday evening.
Roma were fairly active in the January transfer market, signing Tommaso Baldanzi from Empoli and securing loan deals for Dean Huijsen and Angelino. A few redundancies like Ola Solbakken, Andrea Belotti and Marash Kumbulla were sent out on loan.
LaRoma24 details how Pinto visited Roma’s Fulvio Bernardini sports centre in Trigoria on his final day contracted to the club, spending time with the employees there and thanking them for their hard work. He also greeted the fans who were waiting outside, being appreciated for his efforts.
Pinto is now unattached and has already been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. His time at the Giallorossi with filled with highs and lows, succeeding with deals like Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku but failing with others like Eldor Shomurodov and Matias Vina.
