Character: Karla portrays Pattie, a mother working at a bar who points out the connections between her kids' problems and those of three other mothers from the community, which leads to the discovery that there are more families affected. She demonstrates that, no matter the class differences among the Corby mothers, they all allied to protect and ensure justice for their youth, even if their paths to reconciling with the harsh truth were different.

Robert Carlyle as Sam Hagen: Carlyle has received several BAFTA award nominations throughout his extensive career, which includes Trainspotting, The Full Monty, and Barney Thomson. He also played Rumplestiltskin in Once Upon a Time. In Toxic Town, he plays Sam Hagen, a member of the Corby council who's worried about the reclamation operation.

Joe Dempsie as Derek: the actor is most known for playing Chris in the teen drama Skins and Gendry in Game of Thrones. He recently starred in the TV show Deep State and Netflix's Pieces of Her. Dempsie plays Derek, a man who works on the reclamation and is possibly husband to one of the women.

Lauren Lyle as Dani: Lauren Lyle is best known for her recurring role in Outlander, where she played Marsali MacKimmie. She leads the TV adaptation, Karen Pirie, based on the crime novels by Val McDermid and had a supporting role in BBC's Vigil.
