Tripole Walker 55L Backpack Review
When you’re new to trekking, choosing a backpack that offers comfort, durability, and easy usability becomes crucial. A pack doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive — it simply needs to support you well as you take your first steps into the world of trekking.
In this detailed Tripole Walker 55L review, I’ll walk you through how the pack performed for Kiran Panicker during his treks to Bijli Mahadev and the Pench Tiger Reserve.
Comfort- (4/5)
For someone just stepping into trekking, comfort is often the first thing you notice — and Kiran felt that the Tripole Walker 55L performed impressively here.
The pack comes with a hard, padded back panel supported by an aluminium spine, which gives structure and helps the load sit properly on the body. Kiran found the padding to be comfortable throughout both his treks, and the bag didn’t cause any discomfort or pressure points even when fully loaded.
As a beginner, he appreciated that the bag felt supportive without needing constant adjustments.
Ease of Use- (3/5)
Kiran was initially drawn to the Walker series after seeing the brand on Shark Tank India. He found the 55L version spacious and practical. On both treks, he always had more than enough room, even managing to fit his camera bag inside the main compartment during his last trip.
However, ease of access was one of his challenges. Since he packed without organisers, he often had to unpack most of the bag to reach essential items. Organisers would have made packing and retrieval much easier, and he feels that skipping them added unnecessary effort during the trek.
The side water bottle pockets also posed issues. If the side pockets above them were filled, the bottle slots became tight and difficult to use — especially with larger bottles.
Durability- (4/5)
Kiran has used the Walker 55L across two treks and multiple travel situations, and the pack has shown no signs of weakness. No loose stitches, no zipper problems, no strap issues.
He describes it simply:
“It hasn’t given me any issues at all.”
For a 55L backpack priced under ₹3,000, this reliability is noteworthy. The material feels sturdy, the structure holds well even after packing heavy, and the included rain cover adds a layer of protection during unpredictable weather.
Capacity- (4/5)
The 55L capacity strikes a practical balance for beginners. Kiran had enough space for clothing, essentials, and additional gear — and still felt he had room to spare.
For easy-grade treks like Bijli Mahadev and Pench Tiger Reserve, the capacity was more than sufficient. For slightly longer moderate treks, this size would still comfortably hold necessary gear, provided packing is done smartly.
The aluminium spine and padded back allow the bag to hold weight without collapsing or sagging, which is particularly useful for new trekkers learning to pack efficiently.
Price and Value for Money- (5/5)
At ₹2,590 on Amazon, the Tripole Walker 55L offers excellent value. You get:
- An internal frame
- A padded hard back
- Adjustable straps
- Water resistance
- A rain cover
- Sufficient capacity for short to moderate treks
For a beginner-friendly trekking backpack, this combination at this price makes the Walker 55L a strong value-for-money option.
Final Verdict: Is it worth it?
The Tripole Walker 55L is a reliable, comfortable, and beginner-friendly internal-frame backpack. It has survived Kiran’s treks without any issues, offers enough space for gear (including a camera bag), and provides the stability that new trekkers need.
The only notable downsides are the difficulty in accessing items without organisers and the tight water bottle slots when the side pockets are full.
But overall, for the price and performance, Kiran confidently recommends the pack — especially for beginners exploring easy to moderate treks.
