Crop organizations say President Donald Trump’s administration is raising baseless questions about pesticide safety in the first report from the Make America Healthy Again Commission. … The report raises health concerns about exposure to glyphosate and atrazine, two of the most widely used agricultural herbicides.
But the report also says a 2023 study found 99% of food samples were below federal safety limits for pesticide residue, and warns sudden changes to ag practices could disrupt the industry and food supply.
The National Corn Growers Association questioned why an administration that talks so much about government efficiency was raising questions the Environmental Protection Agency’s pesticide review process has already answered. “The report contains misleading claims that could undermine public trust in our nation’s food system,” the National Association of Wheat Growers said.
