"We're Working At A Breakneck Pace": Invincible Season 4 Release Gets Optimistic Update From Robert Kirkman
Invincible season 4's release has gotten an optimistic update from series creator Robert Kirkman, who teased how long the wait between seasons could be. Invincible season 3 is currently ongoing, the show returning 10 months after the end of season 2. This is the shortest wait between seasons the superhero show has ever had, with the wait between seasons 1 and 2 being over two-and-a-half years long. While this is seemingly a good sign for the show's future, with it being renewed for season 4 already, it's unclear just how long the wait between new seasons will be.
Speaking with DiscussingFilm, Kirkman confirmed plans to release Invincible season 4 by early February 2026, wanting to release a new season of the show yearly from this point forward. While he admitted it's unclear if they'll be able to make their goal of having yearly releases for new seasons, he explained the crew is "working at a breakneck pace" to get new episodes out on a yearly basis. Check out what Kirkman had to say below:
I think that the release schedule that we’re in is much more what we can expect going forward as opposed to the release schedule that we were in between Season 1 and 2. We’re working at a breakneck pace behind the scenes with [storyboard artist] Shaun O’Neil and [director] Dan Duncan and the entire team to keep this factory moving and keep this show in production so that we can come out in a fairly regular clip. I can’t guarantee that we’ll be coming back in early February every single year, but I can say that is the goal.
What Invincible's Yearly Release Schedule Means For The Show
Season 4 Is Already In Production
Invincible season 4 is currently in production, with J.K. Simmons, who voices Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man, confirming he's already recorded some parts for the future episodes. This coincides with Kirkman's latest statement, showcasing how hard the crew behind the show is working to ensure a large gap like between seasons 1 and 2 doesn't happen again. It's good news for the superhero show in particular because of its trajectory, with completed source material that its creator wants to finish adapting by season 7 or 8.

After Season 3 Wraps, Invincible Will Expand With a Brand-New Spinoff This May
Invincible may only have a few weeks left, but once season 3 concludes, fans of all stripes will have new content in the form of a brand-new comic.
A yearly release schedule would also set the show apart from other streaming shows, which can often have long wait times between the release of new episodes. Since the cast of Invincibleis full of voice actors instead of physical ones, the show can also work around the schedules of its stars without disrupting its own production. This can help keep up its behind-the-scenes momentum, making it more likely for the series to release new episodes at regular intervals, even if it's not always by early February each year.
Our Take On Invincible Season 4's Hopeful Release Window
The Show Is Proving It Can Be Done
Given both season 2 part 2 and season 3 began in February, the show is proving it can have yearly releases for its new episodes. While there's no telling how long it can keep up such a release schedule, Kirkman's hopefulness means that, if there is a delay, it probably won't be by too much time. With Invincible season 4 already being worked on, perhaps the show can fall into a yearly release schedule, circumventing any more lengthy waits between new episodes.
