What Happened To Josh McGuffey & Lily Huang After 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 6

Josh McGuffey and Lily Huang have embraced very different lives in different countries since appearing on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Josh, a man from South Carolina, met Lily, a single mother from China, on a language-learning app. They started talking and eventually fell in love. Over the years, Josh and Lily faced several ups and downs because of their long-distance relationship. The couple experienced struggles and arguments, leading to a temporary break from each other. During this break, Josh dated another woman from Vietnam. However, he ended the relationship soon after and reconciled with Lily.

Josh and Lily both faced personal challenges. Josh struggled with financial difficulties, as he had few savings and admittedly was broke. Meanwhile, Lily dealt with the challenges of being a single mother and cultural obligations. Ultimately, they decided to take action to improve their relationship. They placed their trust in love and made the decision to marry in China. Josh left his job and relocated to Lily's hometown despite knowing he wouldn't be able to work in China. Lily warmly welcomed Josh, and they shared their romantic journey in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 6.

Josh & Lily's Journey On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way

Josh & Lily Often Misunderstood Each Other

Josh and Lily's on-screen journey was filled with red flags and personal differences. Josh had difficulty trusting Lily because he feared she might eventually give up on him and end their relationship. Similarly, Lily struggled to communicate with Josh because of their language barrier. Despite having no significant age gap, Josh and Lily also encountered issues with intimacy in their relationship. Josh hadn't been intimate with Lily for over seven months, which raised concerns for Lily's daughter, who wanted her mother to be in a healthy, loving relationship.

Lily and Josh often argued because of misunderstandings caused by language differences. During a car ride in China, Josh asked Lily about the flashing lights, which led to a heated argument. They misinterpreted each other, which caused Josh to feel unloved by Lily, making Lily believe that Josh didn't appreciate the financial support she was providing. Despite the misunderstandings, Josh and Lily tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by nearly thirty relatives. Their wedding, following Chinese traditions, received a lot of love and praise from 90 Day Fiancé viewers.

Lily Blamed Josh's Failures For Their Breakup

Josh and Lily's relationship deteriorated after they got married. They both appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 6 Tell All, with Josh joining the cast in person in the United States and Lily attending it via video call. They shared their problems, revealing they were still unhappy in their marriage. Lily's daughter also voiced her opinion during Tell All, criticizing Josh for not showing enough care for her mother. She questioned Josh about his lack of intimacy with her mother and advised him to be more physically affectionate with her in order to prove his love.

In November 2024, Lily posted an Instagram reel with romantic pictures of herself and Josh. She used the post to announce that she had split up with Josh and was divorcing him.

She wrote, "From now on, he is my ex and I want to start deleting many beautiful photos of us together on my phone!"

Will Either Josh Or Lily Return To The Franchise?

Josh May Return To Pillow Talk

Although Lily and Josh were among the most troubled couples in the season, they are unlikely to return to 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.

Lily, who lives in China, has no desire to repeat the experience she had with Josh. She wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone who is so different from her and doesn't speak her language. As Lily isn't an American, it would be difficult for her to continue being a part of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. Moving away from the spotlight might be the best outcome for her.

Josh may still have the opportunity to return to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, like some previous cast members. Individuals like Jamal Menzies, Meisha Johnson, and others made brief appearances on the show. Still, they maintained lasting friendships with fellow cast members and continued to be involved in the franchise through filming Pillow Talk. Josh could potentially follow a similar path. While there is a chance he could return from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way to 90 Day: The Single Life, it's unlikely that producers would cast him due to his lack of drama compared to other cast members.

90 Day: The Last Resort airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on TLC.
