Ivan Juric announced he will leave Torino this summer if they fail to qualify for Europe, but despite the Southampton and Nottingham Forest links, he is unlikely to want a Premier League move.

His contract with the Granata only runs to the end of the current campaign and it has become increasingly clear the tension between the Croatian and the directors is growing.

The fans and Turin-based media are also turning on him, although most of their ire is still reserved for President Urbano Cairo for failing to fund reinforcements.

Juric was already heavily linked with a Premier League switch last year, when both Southampton and Nottingham Forest had approached him.

However, the contract release clause made him too expensive to buy out of the deal and they turned to other alternatives.

The fact Juric might leave Torino this summer does not necessarily mean England is his next destination, because the Croatian has a very long history and close bond with Italy.

He first moved there as a player with Crotone in 2001, then to Genoa from 2006 until his retirement in 2010.

Juric learned the coaching trade working with mentor Gian Piero Gasperini before branching out on his own in 2014 at Mantova, then Crotone, Genoa, Verona and Torino.

It would take a spectacular offer to make the 48-year-old leave the country he has called home for over two decades.

Juric also has a very specific tactical approach that might not work in England, based on a three-man defence, a high press and rigorously rehearsed movements.
