"You Know What Time It Is:" Marvel Rivals Reveals The Thing In New Gameplay Trailer

Get ready to clobber the enemy team into oblivion inMarvel Rivals, as NetEase has posted a character reveal trailer showcasing The Thing in all of his glory. Earlier today, NetEase posted another short clip of The Human Torch, who will also be added to the roster on February 21. These final two members of The Fantastic Four will join Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic to complete the team and come with some fun-looking toolkits to boot.

The Thing, also known as Benjamin J. Grimm, is the latest Vanguard to hit Marvel Rivals, ready to take down anyone who stands in his way. Though the trailer is extremely short, we get a glimpse of The Thing's new toolkit, which looks nothing short of fun as he charges into action and throws punch after punch.

The Thing Has A Very Unique Passive In Marvel Rivals

The Counter Of All Counters

The Thing has a very unique and helpful passive ability that can be seen in the short trailer. This passive appears to make him too heavy to be moved, meaning that Hulk's ultimate can be countered by him not being able to pick The Thing up and slam him around. This also means that heroes like Spider-Man won't be able to web him and pull him off of the map, and Magneto won't be able to push The Thing back with his spear ability. This could be huge for Strategists, as The Thing can stand between them and Hulk and stop his ultimate in its tracks.

The Human Torch, also known as Johnny Storm, has been revealed in a new trailer from the Marvel Rivals devs, showcasing his fun new toolkit.

More so, his other abilities, such as his shockwave that throws enemies backward, could prove very useful for creating space. Other than throwing punches, The Thing also appears to have some form of shield, just like Hulk, and a strong charge ability that is reminiscent of Mauga from Overwatch 2. Each of The Thing's abilities are great at creating space and pushing the enemy team backward, so it will be interesting to see these abilities utilized in ranked matches.
