Dragon Ball Wants You to Bring Gogeta and Vegito to Life For a Special Contest

Although it's rare, fusion is one of the most popular aspects of Dragon Ball. The franchise's two main fused fighters, Gogeta and Vegito, have been fan favorites since their introductions nearly three decades ago. Their appearances have been sporadic in the years since, yet every time they appear on-screen, the ultimate warriors are met with a glowing reception. Now, fans will have the chance to bring either of the two characters to life.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the massively popular mobile game, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, a contest is being held on X (formerly Twitter), in which fans simply repost the official Dragon Ball account stating which of the two characters is their favorite. The winners will receive an official costume of either of the two fusions, gaining an opportunity to represent Gogeta or Vegito and bring the characters to life.

Upon going through the relatively simple process of entering the contest, winners will be chosen at random to receive one of the two costumes. The giveaway is live until February 21, 2025, at 06:59 AM (PST), so fans will want to be sure to enter as soon as they can. The contest is in celebration of Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle's tenth anniversary, which features Vegito and Gogeta as its newest headlining characters available for collecting. The game was initially released in 2015, in anticipation of the then upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' film.

Few could have predicted the lasting and overwhelming success Dokkan Battle has enjoyed over the last decade of operation, and it seems the game has no intention of slowing down any time soon. Defined by relatively simple gameplay and a dangerously satisfying collection aspect, Dokkan Battle grossed an estimated $271 million in 2024 alone, and was Bandai's highest-earning mobile game of the year. Gogeta is set to release in-game sometime on either February 14 or 15, 2025.

Games Have Always Kept Dragon Ball Up and Running

Dokkan Battle Is Only One of Many Highly Successful Dragon Ball Games

For long stretches throughout its 40-year history, Dragon Ball has been largely dormant in terms of anime releases. During those times, fans have been able to satisfy their hunger for more of the series with its many popular video games. Both Dokkan Battle and Dragon Ball Legends dominate the mobile gaming space, while Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has quickly become one of Bandai Namco's most successful console and PC releases ever. When it comes to variety in its games, few anime franchises can compare to Dragon Ball.

To celebrate one of those games, Dragon Ball is allowing two lucky fans the opportunity to bring Gogeta and Vegito to life. The active period for entering will not last long, so fans will want to jump on their chance before it's too late. The ongoing Dragon Ball Daima has been hinting towards fusion for quite some time, and it seemingly won't be long before one of the two fusions returns in anime format.

From the creative mind of Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball is a mega multimedia franchise that spans back to the 1980s. Dragon Ball expanded quickly, starting as a serialized manga for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan. It made its way overseas via manga and an anime adaptation that is enjoyed worldwide. Dragon Ball was the initial starting animated series that followed the adventures of the young Son Goku as he sought after the Dragon Balls. These mystical orbs would grant the wish of any who gathered them together. Then, the series would branch off into the immensely popular Dragon Ball Z, which followed Goku as an adult and featured high-intensity battles and Goku's never-ending search to be the strongest. The series has also enjoyed several popular video game adaptations and continues to release several new animated series and theatrical films up to the recent popular Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
