"Evil Spirits": 90 Day Fiancé Star Annie's Trying To Protect Herself From Bad Energy (Signs She Believes In Thai Folklore Amid Move To Thailand
90 Day Fiancé stars David Toborowsky and Annie Suwan live in Thailand now, and Annie recently showed her belief in the spirit world, which may be linked with her understanding of Thai culture. As she is very pregnant (more than six months now), she's looking for good luck, and embarking on a brand-new phase of her life in her home country. Her loving husband, David, is along for the ride, following a dramatic weight-loss transformation that included David's glam eyebrow makeover.
To get where they are now, David and Annie had to go through so much. Annie conceived via IVF, and IVF journeys are often very emotional experiences. Now, the two joyfully anticipate the birth of their daughter, who, if born in Thailand as planned, will get dual citizenship (Thai and American). In Thailand, Annie can enjoy quality time with her friends and family, and David seems to be adjusting well to his exit from America. Annie wants the best for her baby and husband, and that's why she donned a special charm to protect her from bad energy.
Annie Wore A Magic Charm
She Showed Off Her Interesting Accessory
Annie looked gorgeous in the Instagram photo above, showing off that special glow that some pregnant women have. While she smiled for the camera, Annie showed off an interesting charm, which David revealed to an Instagram fan is a sign of "protection" from "evil spirits." Judging by the look on her face, her little pin's bringing so much good energy her way.
Annie is currently 32 years old - she was born under the sign of Sagittarius. This sign is philosophical, always looking at the big picture. Represented by The Archer, Sagittarians love to set goals and achieve them - they always want to hit the target. This extroverted sign does very well in the spotlight, so it's no surprise that Annie's reality fame makes her happy.
She's even shared her cooking skills via a YouTube show with David. The 90DF spin-off was called Spice It Up With David & Annie.
Annie is a Buddhist. Her husband David even trained as a Buddhist monk, fully opening himself up to her culture and religion. According to Bangkok Post, some Buddhists do believe in evil spirits:
Buddhism’s tenet of reincarnation in particular was taken to mean that a bad “soul” could be reborn as something less than human, for instance a troubled ghost or evil spirit being punished for the sins of a previous life.
As per the same source, Buddhists believe that performing certain rituals, such as offerings of "fruit and flowers," can bring them luck in new homes. Perhaps Annie did a ritual like that in one of the two Thai apartments that she now shares with David.
Annie Is Loving Life Right Now
It's Such An Exciting Time
Annie deserves all the luck in the world as she prepares to welcome an adorable baby girl. Her lucky charm is really her husband, David, who is with her through thick and thin. Since David used to have serious financial difficulties, it's possible that the cheaper cost of living in Thailand is making it easier for the two to make ends meet. At one point, David couldn't even afford Annie's dowry. Lately, the two are seemingly in a much better place, and it's great to see the 90 Day Fiancé stars so happy.
